Yoga is a great way to improve health and wellbeing. This 6-week course is specifically designed to improve back health and should only be started after completing Part 1. If you have not done Part 1 yet, please get in touch. This peer-reviewed course features a range of pain relief poses, guided relaxations and home practices to help students integrate yoga and relaxation into their daily life.

Class 7 - Intelligence and Life

The body wants to be healthy and comfortable and your cells are full of life so let your happiness shine out!

Welcome to the second half of the course.  Did you take a week or two off classes?  How has your own daily practice been?

We are now moving onto the progressive half of the course and you are invited to incorporate Progressive Practice A in to your personal practice.

Imagine being confined in a small space surrounded by lots of people.  Now imagine being in large open space in the countryside or on a beach.  How does that make you feel?

The yoga postures we practice create space in the body which in turn leads to space in the mind through our ability to relax. This is the antidote to stress.

Take some time after your yoga practice to check inside - how do you feel?  A lot of people tell me how they feel more relaxed, unburdened, happy , light, energetic.  How about you?

Feel strong and breathe.  Strengthen the body, lengthen the breath and become stronger and more focussed in the mind.

There are so many benefits from practising yoga, it is the ultimate preventative medicine.

Setting an intention is a really powerful tool and taking action is also important.  This will help to feel better and improve the health of your back for the long term.

It's also worth acknowledging the good things too.  Any improvements in your body, a beautiful sunset or an open flower.  There are so many small things to be grateful for and all these add up to a joyful life.

This is the end of the beginning of your Yoga journey! Well done for making it this far.  This final YHLB session takes you through the Complete Progressive Practice and I really hope you are inspired to continue with your own practice and want to learn more.
